Technical details
Description
epicPLY multiplex panel with HPL coating – lightweight, stable, robust
The epicPLY multiplex panel with HPL coating is the perfect combination of extremely low weight, high stability, and a matte surface. It is moisture-resistant, durable, and turns every project into an eye-catcher – whether in camper conversions, boat building, or furniture making.
Ultralight & super stable – ideal for lightweight construction
Our epicPLY multiplex panel consists of 11 middle layers (at 15 mm thickness) and is up to 50% lighter than conventional multiplex panels – while maintaining impressive stability. Whether you are converting your camper, planning custom furniture, or working on lightweight boat projects, this panel saves weight without compromising on quality.

Why is the panel so light?
The secret lies in the material: Albasia wood, also known as Albizia or Paraserianthes falcataria, is an extremely light wood with low density. The cell structure of this fast-growing tropical tree ensures that our multiplex panels weigh significantly less than conventional panels, while maintaining the same stability.
Albasia grows in Indonesia, where degraded and deforested areas are being reforested. Thanks to the tropical climate with plenty of sun and rain, the tree grows particularly quickly – perfect for sustainable lightweight construction.
Is it sustainable? Absolutely.
We are committed to genuine climate protection. Thanks to our partnership with Fairventures, we plant six new trees for every tree felled. Our Albasia plantations sequester more CO₂ than is generated during production and transport – making our panel climate-neutral.
✅ Eco-friendly
✅ Resource-saving
✅ Responsibly produced
Can epicPLY multiplex panels with HPL coating be used as a countertop?
The epicPLY multiplex panel with HPL coating is approved for vertical use. This means we do not recommend it for use as a work surface or tabletop. For this purpose, we highly recommend the epicPLY multiplex panel with AFX coating, which, thanks to its properties, is approved for horizontal use.
What is the difference between satin matte and pearl matte HPL surfaces?
-
Satin matte: This surface is satin-finished and completely smooth. It looks particularly elegant and calm – ideal for modern, minimalist designs.
-
Pearl matte: In contrast, pearl matte has a finely textured surface. It gives the material a subtle tactile quality and scatters light softly.

*Important note regarding panels with single-sided HPL coating:
For HPL panels with a single-sided coating, a visible warping or tensioning of the panel may occur due to the production process. This is not a material defect but is caused by the lack of a counter-balance on the reverse side (no so-called backing layer). The panels are intended for further processing or professional installation, where this tension is typically leveled out. Complaints based on this characteristic cannot therefore be accepted.
**Important note regarding panel format:
Our epicPLY panels have a standard dimension of 242 x 120 cm. To ensure you can use the full, undamaged surface, we ship the panels in a slightly larger format of 243 x 121 cm. During transport, the outer edges may sustain minor damage or impressions, such as from being secured with straps. These small blemishes do not affect the quality or function of the panel and therefore do not constitute a reason for complaint. If such minimal damage occurs, you can simply trim the panel to the specified size and thus use the full, undamaged area for your project. And if everything arrives perfectly, you have simply been given a little extra panel as a gift from us!
